rob-tokyo

Here’s a new picture of Rob from his Japan trip earlier this year to promote Twilight.  He almost looks like he’s bracing himself for what’ s in store for him in Vancouver (Rob I don’t think anyone could have predicted what was in store for you).  And I thought I would repost this MTV interview too, since I always love hearing Rob talk (about Edward or anything really).  Thanks to our affiliate ROBsessed.

 signing-pen

For those who read my Breaking Dawn post a few days ago, you will remember that I speculated about how busy Rob was going to be up until this time next year.  Well Rope of Silicon is now reporting that Rob is set to join Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz in a period film called “Unbound Captives” hopefully to be shot at the end of this year.   The film is to be directed by Madeline Stowe, who cowrote the script with her husband Brian Benben (is that his real name?) and will make her directorial debut.   Rachel Weisz will play the role of a woman whose husband is killed and her two children kidnapped by a Comanche war party in 1859. She is rescued by a frontiersman (Hugh Jackman, of course) and Rob will play her son (is that even possible – the makeup department has their work cut out for them).

Although it doesn’t show up on any of the casts’ homepages at IMDb (not that that means anything, after all Rob still shows on his as attending the 2009 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards as “himself” – um – was that him practising to be Harry Houdini for Summit – ok that’s a rumour that I’m starting because I wanted him to do that film), it is being reported at Variety.  You can read the respective articles by clicking on the links.

Rob I hope that lid in your mouth is because you are signing on the dotted line for this film.  Seriously, I”m pretty sure there are quite a few of us that have been hoping that Rob and Hugh would appear in a film together ever since we heard about their little karaoke party.

According to Lorena Blas of USA TODAY Rob has hit No. 1 on their Celebrity Heat Index.   This is the first time Rob’s hit the front of the pack (and I’m not sure if that’s a good thing given it relates to media exposure including gossip mags etc).

I love her opening line “Robert Pattinson is hotter than Brad Pitt this week”.  Lorena  just a word of advice, in our world Rob outdoes Brad every week.  The article goes on to say:

“After a steady rise, the 22-year-old Twilight star has hit No. 1 on USA TODAY’s Celebrity Heat Index, which measures media exposure. Pattinson is only half of the centerpiece cover image on the current issue of OK! and made No. 1 only on PopSugar.com’s list of top stories, but he makes enough appearances in other outlets (TV, online and print) to put him ahead of the pack for the first time.

Pattinson was No. 3 on the index for April, and USA TODAY noted that his star was on the rise as photos from the set of the Twilight sequel, New Moon, began circulating.

And if paparazzi shots weren’t enough, Entertainment Tonight aired official behind-the-scenes video from the set on TV and online.

Tabloids have remained fixated on Pattinson’s relationships with co-stars and possible romantic interests.”

Hmmm interesting that she bundles Entertainment Tonight with the paparazz (Rob I hope this photo is you telling the media “thanks but um you can stop now – I don’t really need that kind of help”).  If you are curious to know who else is on the list click here

rob-as-dali-2

Amanda Bell from Examiner  has been fortunate enough to interview Paul Morrison, the director of Little Ashes.  There have been quite a few interviews of late given that the movie is being released in the UK and US tomorrow, but I never tire of reading articles about this film.  Especially Paul Morrison’s comments about Rob:

For Lorca and Dali, I must have seen every up-and-coming young actor who was available in both Spain and the U.K. Originally, Rob read for Lorca, and I was going to cast Dali in Spain. But Rob felt so much more a Dali – the combination of acute intelligence and vulnerability and self-consciousness that the part demanded – that I switched, and brought him back to read for Dali. He was perfect. I never saw anyone in Spain who felt right for Dali, by the way.

Paul mentions that Rob’s current fame is good for the film and seems to take a jab at the media by saying it is irritating when they see Rob misquoted or taken out of context (did you take notes there Amanda).  You can read the full article here.

On The Red Carpet.Com individually asked Peter Facinelli, Mike Welch, Edi Gathegi and Kellan Lutz what it’s like being constantly questioned about Rob.  Peter and Kellan’s responses are quite funny – again I have to reassess my opinion of Klutz, I already love Peter.  However, the nicest comment comes from Edi (whom I also now like very much, not that I’m being biased).  The interviews are 11 minutes in total and I’m not able to embed so you need to click here to watch (plus it’s late and my brain is dead).  Thanks to Pattinsonlife.

Okay so I come across this article today in Digital Spy by Alex Fletcher, their “Senior” Entertainment Reporter.  Now clearly Alex must be male (and if he isn’t, then my only explanation is that “she” has been living under a rock for quite some time).  My reasoning for this is that, Alex claims to expose “10 Things You Never Knew About Robert Pattinson”.  Seriously, Alex needs to surf the internet a little more if making claims like that.  I am intrigued and begin reading the article with interest.  Surely enough, I’m shocked by no. 1:

“Robert was born on May 13, 1986. His mum Clare was a modelling agency worker, while his dad Richard imported vintage cars from America.”

How did Alex find out this piece of personal information – it must have been leaked by one of Rob’s relatives!  People have no shame.

The list continues to reveal more and more information that we (raises eyebrow) couldn’t possibly know about Rob - no. 8 for example:

“As well as being a successful actor, singer and model, Pattinson can also count being a trained scuba diver on his extensive list of talents. He learnt the skill for his role as Cedric Diggory in Hary Potter And The Goblet Fire.”

This Alex is a regular Sherlock Holmes.  Rob I’m laughing with you too – this article better be tongue in cheek (which I doubt), but in case you need to educate yourself about Rob (which I also doubt) or want to test your knowledge, please click here.
