Okay so now that 2010 is behind us (thanks Vertigo for the idea of using this pic) we can look forward to what is going to be an epic year for Rob – 3 films in the wings waiting to be released (okay one still being filmed but we know that release date) – how amazing is this year going to be  when we say hello to Georges & Jacob and start to say goodbye to Edward …

Well we are definitely counting down 2010 here in Oz.  I know both Michelle and Vertigo have treats in store for you, so I thought I would kick off farewell to 2010 by doing what I always do and that is updating my 6 month review and looking back over Rob’s success for the entire year.  Rob without a doubt has an incredible 2011 ahead of him.  I heard the funniest thing the other day, that some Twilight fans think that if it wasn’t for Twilight we all wouldn’t know who Rob was.  Well I beg to differ since if it wasn’t for Rob, I would still think that Twilight was the time of day just after sunset.  I understand that the movies may have introduced him to a new fan base, but for us at RPAU and also a lot of our followers, Rob has ALWAYS been on our radar since Cedric.  Personally, I think the Twihards should thank Hardwicke & Meyers for introducing them to someone who is actually going to be one of the greats of Hollywood – and not actually finding an “unknown” as they would like to believe.  Let’s face it all they have to do is look towards 2011 and the evidence is already there – I mean even his indie film “Remember Me” was a fantastic success which is more than I can say for others.  So for those of us who appreciate Rob the actor and not some saga, or the pathetic bickering that it involves, let’s look back on Rob’s greatness in 2010 and just revel in what Rob has in store for us in 2011.  I’m pretty sure there will be loads of critics silenced.

PS.  I’ve only put the last 3 in because imagine tomorrow when we can say – WFE and BA this year *gigglesuncontrollably*.

Sources on tagged pics and of course the wonderful QuantummFizzx for that amazing amazing pic from the LA Twi Conference and of course, RPSource, Linda and Setje from Pattinsonlife for all the HQ goodness throughout the year.  I wish you all an absolutely amazing 2011 – I know Rob’s making mine unforgettable – so HAPPY NEW YEAR to all our affiliates, friends and followers who help us to enjoy the very special man – Happy New Year Rob.

Production Weekly just tweeted this.  Thought you would all like to know since there has been talk about it being a 7 month shoot.  Hmmm wonder when Rob will be finished so he can do his Bel-Ami and Water For Elephants promos *clapshandsgleefully*.

Well there really isn’t anything new is there?  I mean we’ve all read the book so we pretty much know what the story SHOULD be about – well I say should because I’m certain there will be scenes in the movie that we will be going – huh – that wasn’t in the book.  If there’s one thing I’ve learnt from Summit and Rosenberg is that the movies are “loosely” based on the novels.  Anyway, moving right along, Steve Weintraub from ColliderFrosty was fortunate enough to “snag” a photo of the Breaking Dawn updated synopsis at the American Film Market:

Gah I normally like slow burn but seriously they are going to drag this out until November 2012?  I don’t understand – they rushed to release the first 3 movies and now they’ve decided to slow down?  Talk about stretching it out.  Anyhoo as ridiculous as this now is, looks like you will have to wait until 16 November 2012 for this series to end.  Remember Part 1 is due for release on 18 November 2011.

You all know that we are passionate about the fact that we believe Rob will one day be at least nominated (well I believe “win”) an Oscar and so I had to post this great article written by Jeremy Helligar of True/Slant on his opinion of who out of Twilight will be destined for an oscar.  Of course I’ve only posted the Rob section, but if you want to read the full article you can click on the highlighted link.  You can’t say I’m biased, but I pretty much agree with everything Jeremy has said (and I think most of you know that already).  Thanks to our elite affie Spunk Ransom for the tip:

“What about Robert Pattinson? My money’s on this one. And not just because he recently confirmed that I’m not the only one who’s counting down the years to the end of the blockbuster Twilight franchise.

It can get a little boring,” Robert Pattinson told the New York Times. “The good news is that the whole thing is done in seven months.”

Unfortunately for Pattinson, that’s only when filming on Breaking Dawn, the fourth and fifth installments of the vampire saga will be completed, but with the fifth and final film not due until the summer of 2012, Twilight will continue to be the bane of Pattinson’s existence for years to come.

On the bright side, by the time part two of Breaking Dawn comes around, Pattinson could be well known for something else entirely. For all three of his upcoming non-Twilight projects, he’s forsaking the Hollywood genre pics in which the studios are no doubt dying to cast him in favor of artier, more prestigious fare. His success will depend less on producing big box-office returns than turning in well-received performances.

I’ve written before about how there’s more to Pattinson than Edward Cullen. In fact, if anything, Twilight is a departure from what seems to make Pattinson tick as an actor. The two highest profile non-Twilight films in which he has had a leading role, this year’s Remember Me and 2008 Little Ashes, were not major successes, but these performances must have convinced casting directors to allow him to step out of the corner that Twilight easily could have boxed him into.

For now, he’s a sort of twentysomething male Nicole Kidman, balancing big mainstream films (the Twilights) with smart, artier fare. But judging from Pattinson’s three upcoming non Edward Cullen roles, once Twilight is over, he’s more likely to go the Kate Winslet post-Titanic route, taking risky acting assignments in mostly period pieces. Who needs to play Kurt Cobain when you’ve got projects like these lined up?
