Robert Pattinson “The Lighthouse” and “Waiting for the Barbarians” Could be in the 2020 Oscar / Bafta Race
Screen Daily has included The Lighthouse and Waiting for the Barbarians in its early predictions for the 2020 Baftas and Oscars:
Further US contenders come in the guise of horror The Lighthouse from Robert Eggers (The Witch) and starring Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson; James Mangold’s Ford v. Ferrari starring Christian Bale and Matt Damon; and Scott Z. Burns’ The Report with Adam Driver, which was acquired by Amazon at Sundance for around $14m. Tom Hooper’s star-studded Cats adaptation, could also make a splash, especially in the music and tech categories, while Ciro Guerro’s English-language JM Coetze adaptation Waiting For The Barbarians,starring Johnny Depp, Robert Pattinson and Mark Rylance, seems likely to be in the conversation.  [My emphasis]
Robert Pattinson Presents Kim Jones with 2018 Trailblazer Award at British Fashion Awards
Whilst we wait for Rob’s VMAN photoshoot we can finally see a great video of him presenting the Trailblazer Award to Kim Jones with a little sneak peek of BTS at the end of the vid.
Claire Denis #HighLife has received The International Federation of Film Critics FIPRESCI Award at #66SSIFF. Claire will collect the award on Saturday 29 September at 10:00 am at the Kursaal’s press club. Not sure if Rob will also be attending, he is still in San Sebastian. Perhaps they will travel to New York together for the Q&A on 2 October 2018. Lucky Claire.
