#TheBatmanIsComing2022

January 3rd, 2021 / No Comments

According to The Batman Brasil a source on the film production team told them the following concerning Rob and Matt Reeves’ The Batman:

  • Rob will return to the set on 2 January 2021 and will finish filming in late January/early February 2021, Colin Farrell on 7 February 2021 and Zoe Kravitz on 7 January 2021. Andy Serkis and Paul Dano have finished filming.
  • the film is already in the process of reshoots, as it has already been recorded 100% of the film. He will return to record some scenes in June, only in case of urgency.
  • if all goes according to plan, we will have a big surprise soon from Matt Reeves.
  • Reeves really wanted to release this film in November. But Warner and Robert Pattinson didn’t like it, and preferred to leave it until 2022.

We hope this information is correct, would love to see the big surprise sooner rather than later. In any event, we can now say – The Batman is coming next year (always looking for the silver lining).

Thanks The Batman Brasil.

Robert Pattinson “The Batman” will release in theatres not HBOMax

imgbox

The New York Timesย spoke with Walter Hamada, President of DC Films who confirmed the studio’s plans to split its slate of superhero projects among theatrical and HBO Max. Here’s what DC proposes to do:

DC Films, which is part of Warner Bros., will work with filmmakers to develop movie offshoots โ€” TV series that will run on HBO Max and interconnect with their big-screen endeavors.

โ€œWith every movie that weโ€™re looking at now, we are thinking, โ€˜Whatโ€™s the potential Max spinoff?โ€™โ€ Mr. Hamada said.

To make all the story lines work, DC Films will introduce movie audiences to a comics concept known as the multiverse: parallel worlds where different versions of the same character exist simultaneously. Coming up, for instance, Warner Bros. will have two different film sagas involving Batman โ€” played by two different actors โ€” running at the same time.

Mr. Hamada and Mr. Emmerich had two options: Figure out how to make the various story lines and character incarnations coexist or start over.

The answer is the multiverse. Boiled down, it means that some characters (Wonder Woman as portrayed by Ms. Gadot, for instance) will continue their adventures on Earth 1, while new incarnations (Mr. Pattinson as โ€œThe Batmanโ€) will populate Earth 2.

The multiverse concept has worked on television, but it is a risky strategy for big screens. These movies need to attract the widest audience possible to justify their cost, and too much of a comic nerd sensibility can be a turnoff. New actors can take over a character; James Bond is the best example. But multiple Gothams spinning in theaters?

โ€œI donโ€™t think anyone else has ever attempted this,โ€ Mr. Hamada said. โ€œBut audiences are sophisticated enough to understand it. If we make good movies, they will go with it.โ€

Robert Pattinson and IMDB Lists for 2020

imgbox

Rob seems to have made quite a few lists on IMDb this year.

Col Needham, Founder and CEO of IMDb listed Tenet as his no. 1 movie for 2020:

“#1 No spoilers, do not worry. I had extremely high expectations for the latest movie from Christopher Nolan as the director of all-time #2 favourite movie, Inception (2010) especially as Tenet had been billed as a kind of spirtual sequel. I was not disappointed.

The viewing experience was further enhanced because it was the first film I had seen in a cinema since March due to the pandemic.”

It also made no. 9 on What IMDb Staff are Thankful for this year thanks to Col. Meanwhile, Keith Simanton, IMDb’s Senior Film Editor had Tenet as No. 2 of his fave 2020 movies.

In Top 100 Stars of 2020 Rob came in at no. 51 as one of the stars who stole the spotlight this year:

“This group of stars charted on IMDb’s annual Top 100 list in 2020, achieving high rankings on the IMDbPro’s weekly STARmeter chart throughout the year. STARmeter rankings are based on the actual pageviews of IMDb’s more than 200 million unique monthly visitors.”

And both Batman and Tenet made the 2020 Most Viewed Trailer List coming in at 2 and 4 respectively.
