How desperate are we to hear of what Rob might be doing?  In two words – very desperate and so here’s the rumour doing the rounds today.  According to Spunk-Ransom and @gossipygal, the Tracking Board is stating “Robert Pattinson Heads to the Round Table for Pendragon”.  The article goes on to say:

“Robert Pattinson has been offered one of the lead roles in the new King Arthur retelling PENDRAGON, filling in one of the spots left open after Eric Bana and Michael Fassbender dropped out of the production. Project is a reimagining of the founding of Camelot by King Arthur, with Pattinson up for the role of the fabled king. Pattinson’s potential casting projects a different light on the project, signaling a possible change in tone for the production than when Bana and Fassbender were considered for the leads.

Sylvain White is directing from a script by Lee Shipman and Brian McGreevy, with Michael Connolly producing.”

So according to IMDbPro the movie is “In Development” and the storyline is “The origin story of Camelot and its inhabitants–Arthur, Lancelot, Guinevere, Galahad and Merlin”.  As yet there is no mention of cast, but I’ll keep you posted.

What role might be Rob’s, well according to It’s On The Grid, Bana and Fassbender were offered Lancelot and Arthur respectively.  Ooh the plot thickens.  Imagine Rob in one of these roles.  {Maria: In all my excitement of the Giselher gif I forgot it said that Rob’s been offered Arthur *facepalms*.  Forgive me … it couldn’t be helped and I was too sidetracked doing research LOL)

I know it’s only rumour and well we might have to add it to the pile of previous rumours like Akira, The Crow (bwahaha sorry I don’t think I ever took this one seriously) and who can forget The Private Memoirs and Confessions of a Justified Sinner (remember Rob apparently had the script for this too).  Well we know Rob’s definitely got something up his sleeve, but my patience is starting to run out LOL.  C’mon Rob – just tell us already.

Better dust off the giselher gif *giggles*

No Longer on Rob’s IMDbPro as at 30 June 2011.

I know I know – Akira was listed there and now it’s gone so please don’t tell me how unreliable it is, I’ve heard and accepted your comments about it.  I’m not saying this is gospel, but Rob’s IMDbPro is showing The Crow in his projects “In Development”.  There have been rumours of Rob being involved in this remake since 2009, and I’m not sure why they are showing both Bradley Cooper and Rob for the same role since according to The Playlist, Bradley Cooper is definitely playing Eric Draven.   Hmm not sure if Brads can pull off this dark character,  Rob on the other hand I have no doubts about.  Anyway – I’m only posting this to update you on what’s happening with Rob’s IMDbPro – it’s possible nothing will eventuate, but  seeing how desperate we are to hear anything I thought I’d share.  It’s only at script stage given the legal battles involved.  Will keep you posted.

PS.  The clown pic above is just used to enhance the fact that Rob already does this well – the face paint for those who haven’t seen the Alex Proyas 1994 version of the film.

Rob in leather, Rob on a motorbike – OMG this is almost just as good if not better than a late night post.

Yeah I know there’s always someone out there who is going to tell me that IMDB is not reliable, but I’m going to respond as usual and say I never said it was, but IMDBPro is definitely used by industry and so far it’s not really led us astray when it comes to Rob’s projects “in development”.   So although Rob was being very coy the other day in one of his interviews about Akira, one must  wonder why it’s listed as “in development” on Rob’s IMDBPro  – funny it doesn’t seem to be listed as rumored under Andrew Garfield or James McAvoy.  The plot thickens ….

UPDATE:  Unbound Captives no longer showing in Rob’s IMDBPro.  It’s states “In Development” under the movie “Unbound Captives” but lists no cast at all.  I’ve added screencap below.

You know we normally don’t like to tease, but it’s possible that this is either true or that Peter McDougall knows how to get attention to his screenplay by mentioning the name we want to hear “Robert Pattinson”.  Anyway, the movie sounds great so I hope Rob is on board.  If he’s not – well there’s bound to be something on the horizon soon – very very soon.  Thanks to pattinsonlife for the tip.

In an interview with the Herald Scotland, playwright, Peter McDougall states that he’s written a screenplay for the James Hogg novel “The Private Memoirs and Confessions of a Justified Sinner” and that Rob currently has a copy of it.  The article says:

“McDougall has written a screenplay of James Hogg’s Confessions of a Justified Sinner. “I’ve got Tommy Gormley, who’s directing in America now, (Star Trek, Independence Day) and people such as Patrick Doyle agreeing to do the music, and Connolly and Coltrane have agreed to put their names to it. It’s currently with Twilight star Robert Pattinson, and Kelly MacDonald, who are looking at it. If Pattinson agrees it should go ahead.”

If you want to read the full McDougall article, then click on the link.  In the meantime, here’s the plot summary for then ovel from Amazon:

“One of the supreme masterpieces of Romantic fiction and Scottish literature, The Private Memoirs and Confessions of a Justified Sinner is a terrifying tale of murder and amorality, and of one man’s descent into madness and despair. James Hogg’s sardonic novel follows a young man who, falling under the spell of a mysterious stranger who bears an uncanny likeness to himself, embarks on a career as a serial murderer. The memoirs are presented by a narrator whose attempts to explain the story only succeed in intensifying its more baffling and bizarre aspects. Is the young man the victim of a psychotic delusion, or has he been tempted by the devil to wage war against God’s enemies? The authoritative and lively introduction by Ian Duncan covers the full range of historical and religious themes and contexts, offers a richer and more accurate consideration of the novel’s relation to Romantic fiction than found elsewhere, and sheds new light on the novel’s treatment of fanaticism. Copious notes identify the novel’s historical, biblical, theological, and literary allusions.”
