Hamilton Watch the official Watch for Robert Pattinson Tenet

Hamilton Watches collaborated with Christopher Nolan (again) to become the official watch for Tenet. From Hokindee:

Tenet is a film that has long been shrouded in mystery. The watch community has heard rumblings of Hamilton’s involvement in the film, but there was nothing concrete – until now. Following their collaboration on 2014’s Interstellar, Christopher Nolan tasked Hamilton, yet again, with developing a unique watch for his newest film. What the brand came up with is a special edition version of one of its standard models: the Hamilton Khaki Navy BeLOWZERO Tenet Special Edition.

The watch is being offered in two variants – one with a blue seconds arrow, and the other a red seconds arrow – both with no date window. Each watch will come with special packaging, in either blue or red, designed specially by the film’s production designer. The word tenet being a palindrome (a word which reads the same forwards as it does backwards), each variant will be limited to 888 pieces. As of the time of this writing, Tenet is slated for a July 31 theatrical release, and the new limited edition watches will be released on July 1.

With the release of Tenet, Hamilton is giving people a chance to own this new watch before the film even comes out. While there isn’t much we know about how these watches will be used in the movie, Hamilton has said that they contain clues to the film’s narrative, with the blue and red color of the seconds-hand arrows being an important aspect of both lead characters, played by John David Washington and Robert Pattinson.

This could be a screen capture from the latest trailer, but I thought I would share as it’s been uploaded to IMDbPro and it’s Rob after all. It’s also a slow news day.

Robert Pattinson Tenet release pushed back by Warner Bros to 31 July 2020

Variety reported the following:

“Tenet,” Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated espionage thriller, has pushed back its theatrical debut by two weeks, ending months of speculation about whether or not the $200 million tentpole would hold onto its mid-July release date.

The Warner Bros. film, which stars Robert Pattinson and John David Washington, was initially slated for July 17 and will now debut in cinemas on July 31. On the date that “Tenet” was expected to open, theaters will re-release one of Nolan’s biggest hits, “Inception,” in honor of its 10th anniversary.

“We’re especially thrilled, in this complex and rapidly changing environment, to be bringing Christopher Nolan’s ‘Tenet,’ a global tentpole of jaw-dropping size, scope and scale, to theaters around the world on July 31,” said Toby Emmerich, chairman of Warner Bros. Pictures Group. “It’s been longer than any of us could’ve imagined since we’ve seen a movie on the big screen, and to acknowledge Chris’ fans as we count down to ‘Tenet’’s opening day, we are also excited to offer his masterpiece ‘Inception’ in theaters for its 10th anniversary on July 17.” [my emphasis]

Looks like Warner Bros wants to test the waters with Disney’s Mulan first which releases on 24 July 2020. Time will tell if Tenet sticks to that 31 July 2020 release date. Follow our TENET film page for updates.

Robert Pattinson and John David Washington in a new still for Tenet

From Esquire’s article “The Untold Story of John David Washington” we not only have a new still, but also this little snippet from Rob on meeting with JDW:

Washington stars opposite Robert Pattinson, and the success of the film rides on the chemistry between the two, Nolan says. The actors met shortly before filming, when Pattinson invited his new castmates to his thirty-third-birthday party in L. A.

“He turned up late, and by that point I was very much in a convivial spirit, and then it was him and Aaron Taylor-Johnson turned up, and I think I was just screaming and shouting at them for like an hour, and I suddenly regretted everything I said afterward, and so I thought maybe we’re off to a really bad start, but he was very sweet about it,” Pattinson says. “He’s so positive and not positive in a really annoying way, like he’s definitely . . .  you can definitely push him a little bit to be naughty. He doesn’t mind when other people are naughty.”

It’s an incredibly complicated movie, like all of Chris’s movies. I mean, you have to watch them when they’re completely finished and edited three or four times to understand what the true meaning is,” Pattinson says. He pauses for a moment, then continues with a self-deprecating laugh. “When you’re doing them, I mean, there were months at a time where I’m like, ‘Am I . . . I actually, honestly, have no idea if I’m even vaguely understanding what’s happening.’ And yeah, I would definitely say that to John David. On the last day, I asked him a question about what was happening in a scene, and it was just so profoundly the wrong take on the character. And it was like, ‘Have you been thinking this the entire time?’ . . . There’s definitely a bond in the end in kind of hiding the fact that maybe neither one of us knew exactly what was going on. But then I thought, Ah, but John David actually did know. He had to know what was going on.”

Thanks @Monsieur_HJ for heads up.

Roadshow Films Confirms that 16 July is still planned #Tenet release date

image host

Roadshow Films confirmed to Robert Pattinson Australia today that 16 July 2020 was still the planned release date for Tenet in Australia. For those unaware, Roadshow Films is the Warner Bros distributor in Australia. So unless Warner Bros pulls the plug or our cinemas don’t open (I believe Sydney cinemas plan to reopen on 2 July 2020 or at least Palace Cinemas), we can hopefully safely venture out to watch Rob in Christopher Nolan’s latest film.

Below are links for cinemas currently showing Tenet as “coming soon”. I will of course update closer to release with more accurate information.

Melbourne

Perth

Canberra

Brisbane

* Note IMAX Sydney still under construction so no July screenings.
