I was gobsmacked this afternoon when I noticed that @BrimstoneMovie only had 905 followers. HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE with Rob’s fanbase. All I can think of is that there is confusion that these are not official because they don’t have the blue Twitter tick of approval. But they are. Here’s @MartinKoolhoven’s tweet on 6 February:
and here are his tweets on the day Rob was announced when I’m guessing the majority of the 900 followers started following him:
and then this
So let’s make sure we believe it’s going to be “fucking awesome” by supporting the film via the official channels. You know people run these movie websites to track interest etc. Martin has been good enough to include fan tweets on the site so how about us giving back and making sure we’re supporting his film. Every Rob fan who has a Twitter account should be following @BrimstoneMovie and believe me I know there are more than 935 1023 (as at 3 March 2015) of you out there. So there is no more confusion, here are ALL the official social media for Brimstone:
- website:  BrimstonetheMovie | Martin Koolhoven
- Twitter: Â @BrimstoneMovie
- YouTube: Â Brimstone
- Instagram:Â BrimstoneMovie
- Facebook:Â BrimstoneTheMovie
- Twitter: Â @MartinKoolhoven
Go support the people who have faith in Rob – let’s make it happen. #stepsoffsoapbox

See even the Martin Koolhoven (director) is asking you to do what I asked you to do back on 19 February 2015. I love this tweet! Just bloody follow all of them … DO IT.
Um, could it be that a lot of *ahem* older Rob fans (like myself) aren’t into this type of social media…? Anyway, these types of head-counts aren’t really true indicators of interest or how many people will actually pay to see the movie at a cinema. Unless its crowd-funding they’re after, it shouldn’t really matter. (Or am I so out of touch that it actually does?) *panics*
WOW I am right there with you Maria – gobsmacked!!!! That is freakin’ crazy!! Thanks so much for putting together this list of official links. Yes, everyone get behind the official sites & support them, it’s the least we can do!! Brimstone is going to be awesome, cannot wait.
Lol @Trish social media is pretty up there as a tool for garnering interest these days. It’s not about how many people will go to the cinema, but how many people are talking about it etc etc. And the fans are out there – they follow us and others. Even if only 10% of our followers followed Brimstone’s twitter account it would make a difference. No need to panic though I just thought it odd that the official account has such low numbers. I mean at the end of the day we don’t have the large following of others yet we had the recognition to get us on the red carpet and interview Rob. So I’m not expecting them to have 100,000 followers but surely there’s 5000 fans out there interested.
I hear you Trish – Maybe we should write a letter to someone instead 🙂
I’ll do FB though. I should probably rename that Robbook because the only thing I do there is connected with Rob in some way.
I hear you Maria, it really seems crazy!! 😕 here’s hoping folks realise it’s good to support official accounts. It’s the least we can do if on social media already. I think anyways..
Following!
It took a lesson from my daughter but both her and I FB Liked
BTW – Mr Koolhoven. We are Bitches, not Bastards
