Oh boy. I know they said the release would be limited, but this is taking it to a whole new level. Can’t wait to see the (non) box office for this. “A nightmare you don’t want to wake up from” as opposed to the nightmare you can’t believe is happening to try and see this film. I’m feeling really sorry for anyone who doesn’t live in Sydney or Melbourne. Sorry peeps I really feel for you.  For those lucky enough, the film starts 20 November.

Oh wow, that really is limited. For the first time I won’t be seeing Rob on the big screen 🙁

Just two cinemas? Wow. That is a bit ridiculous. They might as well just release it straight to DVD so that everyone who wants to see it can rather than see it illegally.

It’s a joke! And by all accounts it’s a great movie, really worth seeing. How are people meant to see it?? I don’t understand the logic behind these decisions… I’m definitely happy to live in Melbourne and I too feel sorry for all you fans in other cities. Dare we hope that there will be a wider release in 2015????

I’m trying to find out @Ephie, but I have to say I miss “Hopscotch” their predecessor. It’s been like pulling teeth getting any info out of eOneANZ. It’s almost as if they don’t want to promote this film. We are most definitely out of the loop on this one which is a shame. OH wait I’m seeing them on Tuesday night for a secret screening. I’ll see if I can pin someone down then.

What the? This makes no sense at all to me. It’s freaking Cronenberg not to mention the stellar cast? My local arthouse cinema played Cosmopolis for weeks and supports a wide variety of limited release movies, will be gutted not to see this there. Mmmmm I wonder if I can get away with a trip to Sydney to see a movie 😠Oh Maria I have visions of you tackling someone (NRL style) to the ground lol!

LOL @lise-lou I’m at a loss as to how they can even limit the release of this film to 2 cinemas in 2 cities. I’m hoping that it’s just a very limited release perhaps to test the waters. Still scratching my head. And then they wonder why people illegally download films.

I hear ya lise-lou, my fave cinema in Hobart played Cosmopolis for weeks & has NEVER let me down. I just do not understand why the release is so limited. Am baffled & so disappointed 🙁

What? What?! WHATTTTTTT????!?!!!!!!!!! Are you kidding me? Grrrrrr. How can we support films if NO ONE SHOWS THEM?!!!! You give ’em hell, Maria. I think I’ll sit in a corner and cry for the rest of the night. Of all films, I thought this one would get general release in larger cinemas. What the fuck went wrong?

I agree with you @Maria about illegal downloading. So many people are sick of movies being limited released, or too expensive to see, so they will get it online for free, burn it onto a DVD and play it on a big screen TV. It is so easy to do. Unfortunately having issues like this, it just pushes more and more people to do these illegal actions instead of discouraging it.
