    Carter Burwell Mentions Rob

Sonic Scoop interviewed Carter Burwell and the only reason I’m posting this is to confirm the one thing which I’ve highlighted and underlined LOL:

“Cool. What about the fact that Breaking Dawn is a two-parter? Knowing you’re also going to be scoring Part II, does where the story goes from here enter into the picture at all for you? When you’re thinking of these themes?

Well, I’ve read the script, but I haven’t seen any of Part II yet. But I did have to write a theme that Edward plays on camera in Part II. Bill wanted to echo the “Bella’s Lullaby” scene from the first Twilight in the last part, and so I had to write a lullaby for that well in advance so Rob Pattinson could learn the fingering – he’s a musician and prides himself on being able to do that. [my emphasis]

So we know that’s an important part of Part II. And we hint at that theme in Part I. But honestly, it was quite a challenge for me to get my head around the 80 minutes of music for this one. My scores are usually half that. So I didn’t give very much thought to Part II while I was doing Part I.”

OMFG first we are going to have Georges, then we are going to have Edward playing piano and then Eric *_________________________* not to mention the “other projects” Rob hinted at during that 13 minutes of audio I posted this morning.  We thought 2011 was going to be Rob’s year, but I think it’s going to pale in comparison to 2012.

    Thanks RobPattzNews.

Rumour No. 5249: Robert Pattinson Is Recording An Album! *Updated*

I would give anything for this rumour to be true, but it’s probably not so I thought I would use the excuse to post Rob’s Songs From a Room performance.  According to Us Weekly:

    “Robert Pattinson, rock star?

The British actor, 25, is prepping to record an album imminently, two sources tell Us Weekly.

Rob has been kicking a few original songs around for a long time, but his schedule didn’t allow it,” one insider explains of the superstar, who recorded two songs, “Never Think” (which he co-wrote with pal Sam Bradley) and “Let Me Sign” for the original Twilight soundtrack.

“Now he’s got some weeks to get everything in line before going back to promoting Breaking Dawn.”

But don’t expect a chart-topping album with broad mass appeal and a string of top 40 hits. “The album Rob will make will be guitar-based and drums, very organic-sounding, nothing pop,” explains a second source of the indie-music fan, “Like stripped-down Ray LaMontagne meets Van Morrison.” …

“Music is his first love!” says the second source. “He’s tortured because he avoids it. When he’s sitting around jamming in the studio, it’s his favorite moment of life.”

To prep for the recording session, the guitar player has been “studying on on other instruments — like piano and horns,” the first source reveals. “It’s an obsession for him.”

Ok well let’s break down what is actually said in this article and  how many inaccuracies are in it:

    1.  ”Imminently” – doesn’t that mean likely to happen?  So in actual fact it has been “imminent” for the last 5 or so years really.

    2.  Rob didn’t co-write Never Think – Sam wrote the original and Rob kind of tweeked the Twilight version … right.

    3.  I hope they mean by some weeks to get everything in line they are just talking about booking the recording studio and other musicians and not actually recording the album.  Let’s face it – Rob’s pretty much had the last 8 or so weeks to “get everything in line”.

    4. Oh I think you CAN expect a chart topping album – it doesn’t have to have top 40 hits to be successful.  Plus Rob has something the majority of top 40 artists don’t have and that’s talent.  Bwahahahaha sorry but guitar based and drums – um I think you just described every rock band there is … oops sorry I digress.

    5.  Okay studying on other instruments “like piano and horns”.  Rob doesn’t need to study piano …

Hmmmm I think I could have written a better and more accurate article about Rob’s “imminent” recording deal.

Right … so I just really posted this in the hope of putting it out there and it may happen, plus I think even though we all WANT Rob to record an album, he has said time and time again that he doesn’t want to look like he’s cashing in on his career.  I gather Rob will pretty much tell us he’s doing it before it happens and I can’t really believe he could slip into a recording studio without anyone noticing although stranger things have happened.

Scroll back up and click on pic to listen to Rob perform … *SWOON*

Updated:  MTV have debunked, even though I pretty much think I debunked it above.  It’s not rocket science.  Anyway if you want further confirmation that this is just a rumour, click on MTV link.  Oh and by the way MTV can you just stop it with the Twilight references he is MORE than a BD Star in fact I believe currently he should be referred to as the Water For Elephants star .. jesus I’m beginning to think the “T” in MTV stands for Twilight.

Rob #1 In PopSugar’s Best Of 2010: Top Five Singing Stars

Definitely no surprise that Rob has came in at #1 on PopSugar’s Best Of 2010 Top Five Singing Stars List. Who can ever forget the day when the clip of Rob’s SOFAR performance was released *sigh* No words to describe how beautiful his voice is – just none. As we’ve been told before, SOFAR are just waiting on Rob’s approval to release the clip in full so fingers crossed we’ll see Rob’s performance in it’s entirety soon *claps hands* SOFAR really have helped restore my faith in the human race. It’s so nice to see someone actually ask before doing, so very rare these days.

Some Details of Rob’s Performance for SOFAR

hardestxheart for pattinson_music interviewed SOFAR and here’s what they had to say about Rob’s performance back in January:

Lastly, if you don’t mind, I’d like to inquire a bit about Robert Pattinson’s performance on behalf of our community. Did he volunteer to play? Can you describe his performance style, his musical style for us?

He sure did. He was in the audience and clearly enjoying the music. Halfway through the gig he asked if we would mind if he played. As there were 5 other acts pre booked to play we said ‘sure!’ but that it would have to be at the end of the night. He was nervous – Rob said it had been about a year since he had played live and hoped he remembered what to do. He was very down to earth and shy about it.  It was getting late once he grabbed the guitar and walked to the ‘stage’ (the front of a private home in north london) – so we agreed he’d play one song. He has a very rich and soulful style – sweet-sad lyrics – a sound not unlike his friends Marcus Foster and Bobby Long.

We’ve been so patient waiting for him to perform and your clip gave us so much hope! Do you plan on releasing the full song he performed? And can you see him returning for another performance?

We will definitely release the full clip of his performance in the coming months. Just arranging when a good time to do so (watch this space: www.sofarsounds.com). And as he truly enjoyed playing Songs From A Room (and played well), I’m pretty certain he’ll be back.

You can read the full interview by clicking on pattinson_music hyperlink above.  Thanks to lmjd at pattinsonlife for the tip.  Here’s the teaser:

PS. For those who might be interested in hosting something similar (no promise of Rob though) here in Australia, you can send us an email at robertpattinsonau@hotmail.com and I can provide you with some background information that Rocky has provided to me.

Also, we were told a few months back that they are just waiting on Rob’s okay to release the remainder of the clip.  Fingers crossed that that happens very very soon as suggested above *clapshandsgleefully*

Thanks to SOFAR’s FB page – here is a slightly extended and official clip of Rob’s performance. No annoying voiceovers or anything! Oh I cannot wait for them to release the full clip.  And in case you’re wondering – this isn’t the torture I was proposing!

Songs from A Room (Slightly Longer)

If only I had the software to edit out her voice (sorry no offence whoever she is), but talking over Rob is as serious an offence as tagging his face!  This is slightly longer, plus it has Rob on the UK fan event last year confirming he will sing again when he’s ready and YES! thank God he was back in January.  Thanks to our friend Aeren at our affie Robsessedspain for the vid!

Angels never sound this good (Updated)

I barely have words to express the bliss of waking up to Rob’s vocals today.
This clip was taken last January when Rob made an appearance on Songs from Another Room. A series of live performances in people’s loungerooms across London. Turn up the volume and ignore the voiceover at the beginning – Rob singing … Le swoooon.

    Updated to add: Additonal footage!

    Both Rob parts as one.

With thanks to our affie TwiBritneyFan and elite affie RPlife for the additional footage.

Even Thought of Leaving – new song cowritten by Rob

Amanda Bell from examiner.com wrote an article about Sam Bradley’s shows in LA on 25 and 26 May.  Since it’s another quiet day I thought I would post a clip of Sam performing the song that he co-wrote with Rob recently.  Now the clip that was used in Amanda’s article has been removed, but I’ve found another one thanks to YouTube user jOcOse.   During the introduction of the song Sam says “it’s a true story to someone” and as Michelle and I suspected, although he doesn’t say it here, the song is autobiographical. Sam confirmed this at his show on 30 May and it makes sense that Rob would be able to help him write it.  I wonder if this is one of the songs Rob spoke about “composing” for a soundtrack – I’m hoping it might turn up on Remember Me. Although “composing” rather than singing has me thinking could that be the music for the CD he gives Bella for her birthday in New Moon?  Always teasing Rob, always teasing – in any event Rob working on a song is always ”music to my ears” .

    Hugh Jackman talks about Rob

The Insider caught up with Hugh Jackman at the Hollywood premiere of his new movie ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ & when asked about his karaoke session with Rob in Japan he told them this:

The guy has got a voice on him, there’s an album coming. “If he wants to do it, there’s an album coming.”

We couldn’t agree more Hugh. Rob’s voice is just so beautiful & one that deserves to be heard & appreciated by everyone. If Rob was to record an album & release it, it would make me one very very happy person. I have also included the video below so you can hear Hugh’s comments for yourself.
