I can’t believe it was 2 years ago today that the Australian premiere, organised by Cilla – RPAU’s original owner, was held.  What a day that was – the anticipation and excitement in seeing this film on the big screen for the first time. I have so many fond memories from that day – two being that I met Michelle for the first time in person and Vertigo walking up to me as I was handing out tickets and saying “are you Maria from the site?”  I guess I looked like the only smartarse associated with RPAU even then LOL.  It wasn’t too long after that night that Cilla gave the site to both Michelle and I and we seriously have never looked back.   See Rob you bring so much more than just entertainment.  Anyhoo – I just felt like seeing some Art tonite and what better way than our favourite Golden Years HTB scenes.

I’m really sad to see the end of our Golden Years tributes, it’s been a wonderful time to share Rob’s films with you all.  I know for a lot of us Cedric was our first taste of Rob.   He has never disappointed and although I’m conflicted about his involvement with the Twilight Saga, we really have to give Catherine Hardwicke credit for seeing in Rob what we all saw the moment we laid eyes on him.  Thank you Catherine for allowing Rob the opportunity to give us the perfect Edward.  This in turn has opened doors and given him opportunities he most probably only dreamed of.  I’m also thankful that Rob is finnicky about the roles he chooses and won’t just do any Hollywood tripe that is undoubtedly thrust his way.  2011 will brings us some amazing Rob moments and I’m so looking forward to that as are Michelle and Vertigo.  We are going to be in for one hell of a ride that’s for sure.  However, for now, here’s my last tribute vid for Golden Years – Remember Cedric Diggory, Rob’s smile and performance as Cedric always has a special place in my heart.

Well it’s really Fast Forward Rob talking about Cedric, but we won’t get into semantics … right.  Anyway I thought I’d put this together as a little treat as we wind down, as Michelle said this morning, our Golden Years series.    I’m really going to miss it, but for those who want to see them again, they are all saved at RPAU’s Vimeo account which you can access from the Video page.  Also, we’ve had a few issues with our host going down and doing maintenance which means noone can access the site (including us).  Whenever this happens we normally tweet something about it, but we realise not everyone follows us on Twitter, so if you don’t and you think we have shutdown or moved, then I recommend you bookmark our blog site which we use whenever the site is unavailable.  In future, if the site is down for more than 10 minutes, then we will update the status here and also post updates which we will then eventually move back over to the main site when it’s back up and running.  Well enough of my chatter, here’s my little gift to you all.

Oh how I love Cedric’s relationship with his father Amos.   I never fail to tear up when Amos yells out ‘that’s my son, that’s my boy” when he realises Cedric has been murdered.  That moment & also Dumbledore’s powerful speech about Cedric to all in the Great Hall tears my heart out each & every time.   To help us wrap up our AMAZING Golden Years series, thought I would share just a few more of my most fave Ceddie stills with you all.

I can’t believe we are THIS close to Rob’s Golden Years segments being over (well until the time machine kicks in that is).  It’s been an amazing journey for us and whether you’re a seasoned supporter or new, thankyou for your amazing-ness and thank you Rob, you’ve been a champion through it all and have once again shown us no limits.   Looking forward to all future additions  … that’s if we survive the next character. ahem …

Yes well I’d like to mull things over in the hot water – oh um oops did I say that out loud?  Sorry Michelle & Vertigo I will try and behave myself.  This is just  a short scene, but I love it and am really happy that Hermoine is nagging Harry and not Cedric!  Oh to have been at school with Cedric *swoon* – seriously none of the boys even came close.  Oh wait that’s right I’m talking about Cedric.  Rob’s portrayal – well surely they all saw it – there should be no surprises that Rob is where he is at this moment because there was never any doubt in my mind and as I always say  - patience is a virtue – and boy has it paid off for me or what.

As promised, here is part two of my Rob as Cedric gifs.  Ah Ceddie, you are just so sweet.   Enjoy everyone!

I have SO many fave Rob moments from both the film & behind the scenes & I just couldn’t leave any out, so here is part one & I will be bringing you part two a little later in the week. Thought I’d kick this post off with my BTS gifs as this is where I really fell in love with Rob as a person.  Of course I loved him as soon as I saw him on the big screen as Cedric, but seeing him in these featurettes, hearing him speak, seeing his gorgeous smile & hearing his laughter, seeing his personality – that was when I discovered just how much of a beautiful person he is & was therefore forever hooked.  Special doesn’t even come close to describing what Rob is & the HP casting people clearly knew this & saw the extreme talent he possesses – smart people.  Rob played Cedric to perfection & did complete justice (& beyond) to a very special & important character in the Harry Potter world.  Preaching to the converted I know! Enjoy everyone, I know how much I loved making these.

I’m going to admit this to you guys, how I love the entire HP series (yes, I’m even going to the midnight screening this month) and GOF is like a jewel among them. I know I’ve said it before, but it’s true. As much as I love Rob doing the less commercial, more gritty and complex characters, I’m very proud of Rob for having been a part of such a classy franchise. His role may have been too short lived … but oh how sweet it was. And can I just say that HP casting don’t make their choices in Actors lightly. They know their stuff and Rob showed the chops to pull off someone as important as Cedric. Now that’s magic.
I’ve chosen this piece today for obvious reasons – the moment of truth when Dumbledore announces the winner and we see Ceddie all lit up with joy.
*whispers* Umm and how often do we get a chance to adore Rob wet and in shorts? He really does win at everything, Enjoy!
