As part of our “Golden Years” series and further celebration of Rob as Toby, we bring you a special treat. As mentioned yesterday, Rob doing smokey goodness through-out “The Haunted Airman” was a huge bonus. Being a reformed smoker (TRYING), it’s not easy for me to watch people draw on ciggies … unless of course they sizzle like Rob while doing it. Where’s that big industrial fan again? Need now!
Hang onto your chairs or better still, take a load off, kick back and enjoy the smokin brilliance that Maria so beautifully compiled for us today. THANKYOU from the bottom of my heart.
At RPAustralia where we love nothing more than to celebrate Rob and his career on a daily basis, we will be bringing you a series of goodness as we take a closer look at and appreciate Rob’s on screen performances. The “Golden Years” will be celebrating highlights of Rob’s amazing work from 2004 when he first graced the screen as a professional, to his most recent projects of 2010.
Today I will be kicking off with a scene from “The Haunted Airman”. Rob’s performance as Toby was outstanding and so convincing, that upon first watching, I was instantly drawn into waves of emotion and all senses were subjected to the dark place which was this character’s reality. A performance so powerful, the focus on plot became secondary (for me) to Rob’s masterful brilliance. In addition to this, the consistent smoking through-out proved to be a real bonus. Here are some screen caps and a short video which capture moments from one of my favourite scenes and I hope you enjoy the magic of video presentation (as much as Michelle and I did), which can only be credited to our very own talent, the one and only Maria.
p.s. click for BIG action when viewing screen caps. Trust!
Just a few rays of Friday afternoon sunshine because it’s raining here and it’s the wrong kind. It’s also a good excuse to appreciate Rob, not that anyone needs an excuse.
Or evening booster, depending on which side of the world you find yourself. Rob’s suit is quite suitable for any occasion really and here are some faves from the Early Show during his Remember Me promo days. These were some very proud moments seeing Rob out on his own, promoting something he loved so dearly and had invested so much of himself into … and away from anything Twi related. I could go on … *wipes tear*
Since Rob is one of a kind, there seem to be no words invented to describe the look, glance and being on the other end of that stare … ah that stare … *drifts off*. Ahem, where were we?
The man sure knows how to smolder! Now tell me, why do I have the Hoodoo Gurus song stuck in my head. ”I was gone the moment I laid eyes on you!”
Either Rob is the master of nuance, or he has plenty to say … or both. There is an additional theme here which was inspired by Maria’s beautiful post earlier today. If you don’t see it, that’s ok becuause it is Rob afterall. Enjoy and depending on where you find yourself, goodnight and goodmorning!
Enjoying a very lazy Sunday afternoon and was wondering how to slow down the time and make this weekend just that little bit longer. Physics may not be my forte, however appreciating the finer things in life is. Here’s some works of art among a little random photoshoot goodness. Enjoy! Hope everyone’s had a great weekend.
Here is the last TCA video where Rob accepts the award for the Twilight series. Once again he outshines them without even trying. I’m not playing favourites, however am sure you will all see for yourselves.
