January is becoming my favourite month purely because we seem to be blessed with new Dior.  THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER:  Fil Rouge is getting ready to release the film in Italy and confirmed there is a special screening in Milan on Sunday 15 January with Brady Corbet attending after the screening via SKYPE. Other special screenings are in Ireland on 2 February at St John’s Central College and Minneapolis for members of the Walker Art Centre of IFP MN on Tuesday 7 February 2017. Hong Kong is about to get the movie on DVD|Bluray t00. DIOR.  Holy Moly – I knew there must have been shots of Robert in that polo/turtle neck.  For those with instagram make sure you follow the new Dior Homme instagram.  GOOD TIME:  Loved Brandon Harris is most excited about this film.  He’s not alone.  THE LOST CITY OF Z:  Stills now in UHQ my fave three letters. Thanks Posh. And we got a new interview on the NYFF red carpet – how I’ve missed Robert’s dulcet tones. The Lincoln Centre has also now added to their website. The UK may have a release date – I’m always wary until I see it on the distributor’s actual site. The US sticks to its “R” rating with Gray and the producers losing their appeal to downgrade and the official twitter & Facebook reminds us that “It is your destiny. The journey to the #LostCityOfZ begins in three months”. I hope us Aussies don’t have to wait longer than that. Our date is yet to be confirmed *sadpanda*. THE TRAP: I realise this interview is from back in September 2016, but I still have high hopes that we will see uzi wielding Max *lookstoheavens*. IDOL’S EYE:  Didn’t think I would be interested in a replacement for DeNiro but I was wrong. IN OTHER NEWS:  We know Studio Olafur Eliasson is involved with the artwork for High Life so I wonder if this is a little bit of research and possibly this.  Also Nicholas Bell (Ioncinema) lists High Life as No. 2 of 100 Most Anticipated Films of 2018 and mentions that Michelle Williams was almost in the film rather than Patricia Arquette. Not sure how I feel about that since I love Michelle and Patricia. Collider included The Lost City of Z in 33 films most anticipated in 2017.  I especially like this quote “The long journey of The Lost City of Z is more than worth the wait. [Chris Cabin] called it “a masterpiece”.  Lol Crawley has been nominated for a Spirit Award by the American Society of Cinematographers for The Childhood of a Leader – deservedly so. Thanks Maria for the heads up. Movie Pilot did a write up about Robert’s upcoming films and had a poll at the end to see which film you were most looking forward to.  I didn’t do the poll because there wasn’t a link for “All of them”, but I did love the fact that they used 2 of Jules film edits in their post.  Smart people. Vice (Greece) included Damsel as one of the 10 films they hope to see this year (thanks Posh). Germany, you can watch Queen of the Desert on SkyCinema from 16 January to 15 March 2017. COMING UP NEXT WEEK:  Queen of the Desert is finally being released in Japan on 21 January 2017 and if you are in Hong Kong you can own The Childhood of a Leader on DVD|Bluray from 20 January 2017.  Looking forward to some news next week.  See you then.
