Happy New Year!  I won’t say much here because I’ve said enough in the 2016 Year That Was post, but let’s see what this week brought us.  THE LOST CITY OF Z:  The canoe still in UHQ – is an amazing bonus just before New Year.  Thanks Posh. Chantier Films posted the teaser trailer with Turkish subtitles and hints that the film will be seen soon in Turkish theatres and Beyazperde has the release listed as 21 April 2017. eOne Spain also posted a subtitled trailer. Still can’t believe there’s no mention of Robert in the Empire UK interview with James Gray. Signature Reads posted their wrap up from NYFF – nothing really new but it was great to reread about the conditions they all endured to bring us the film. QUEEN OF THE DESERT: Wish I knew what Vogue Japan was saying about this film. COSMOPOLIS:  I never tire of seeing stills for this film – not even 4 years after it was released.  IN OTHER NEWS:   Indiewire asked 35 Directors to pick their fave films of 2016 and some included The Childhood of a Leader.  I like that they also asked Brady about his fave films. Sam McCosh from AnOnline Universe included The Childhood of a Leader in their 20 fave films of 2016 – no. 19 to be exact.  Michelle kept us up to date on what Robert films we can see on FOXTEL in January. I tweeted on Tuesday how great that the LCOZ teaser had over 1,770,000 hits, on Thursday it had 2,122,787 and today 2,139,744. I cannot wait to see what 2017 brings especially with 3 of Robert’s films being released – The Lost City of Z, Good Time and Damsel.  We know Robert’s filming High Life and possibly The Trap and Idol’s Eye although I will believe those two when I see them. But seeing as we’re starting off the new year I’m just going to put this out there – I would love it if one of Robert’s films was at the Sydney Film Festival again #hinthint.  For those new to the site, don’t forget to check out our Masterposts for all events, Dior for all your Dior needs and Films page for comprehensive information for each of Robert’s film – past, present and future. Hope you have had a fun start to the year. See you next week.
