From The Playlist:

“It’s now been over a year since Werner Herzog unveiled “Queen Of The Desert” at the Berlin Film Festival, and while it has played a small handful of festivals since, and opened in some foreign territories, the picture has mostly been under the radar. But let’s hope the arrival of this new trailer means that a big-screen release is on the horizon.”

I don’t think this trailer is “new”.  It looks the same to me as the international trailer posted by Atlas Distribution which we have on our “Queen of the Desert” film page.  Although something must be happening, because I noticed the Transmission logo at the beginning of the above trailer and it’s also been posted on Transmission’s YouTube on Monday and their Queen of the Desert page.  Whether it’s new or not it was great to watch again and surely the fact that it’s being promoted must mean that something is about to happen.  We know it’s coming soon, Atlas Distribution told us so.  Buckle up peeps we may just get release dates sooner than we think.

Maria and all of the brighter than bright ladies. My husband has just finished reading “Mission Blacklist” for the second time, it is such a good read, when he read it for the first time Rob had had been signed up to play Eric Maddox. My husband said he could picture him in the role. Then we read that Rob flew to NY to meet Eric and they spent 17 hrs together talking about the dangerous job chasing down leads interrogating hundreds of detainees. Eric said he was blown away by Rob and the intelligent questions he asked. He was thrilled Rob had been chosen to play him. Then it all went nowhere does anyone know why a movie like that was forgotten.
I would love to hear that one of my favourite Directors David Cronenberg had taken it up, we all know Rob loves working with him. WOW imagine one wonders how on earth do they get financed.

hope someone can answer my question.

@Barbara sometimes it’s all about lining up all the ducks. Directors pulled out, Rob may not have wanted to work with the new director or other film opportunities came up for him and there where scheduling conflicts. Sometimes the money doesn’t eventuate to finance the film. It’s possible it may still get made – it took Lost City of Z almost 10 years before it came to fruition with a lot of changes in between. It’s a fickle and tough industry.

@Maria thankyou for your explanation, I didn’t know it took so long to get L C of Z up and going.
I am very excited we will get to see it. At the moment here in Coffs Harbour we have a miss mash of movies the standout is “Grimsby” the highly intelligent, stunningly scripted/directed, a masterpiece of garbage.
Thank goodness it was also showing “The Lady in the Van” it was really good. So by the time Lost City of Z appears in Coffs I will probably be in a home in the basket weaving room as the birds tweet gently above, or I will be like the lady in the van causing all kinds of mayhem like the van lady,or I will be dust in an urn on the dresser. Oh how I miss Sydney.xxxxx
