The Childhood of a Leader will screen as part of the “Discoveries” section of the 21st Vilnius International Film Festival which runs between 31 March to 14 April 2016.  Information about tickets can be found here.  There’s no date as yet as to the screening, but the following cinemas are involved with the festival.  I will update this post as soon as more information is to hand.

According to Lietuvos žinios:

“21st Festival of Cinema Spring “program” Discovery of the Year “in the most important films of world cinema festivals has attracted special attention and has been rewarded with not a single international prize. The vast program, viewers will discover new Debuting filmmaker and unique look into the world of cinema. “Discovery of the Year” – a program that delivered the first or second feature-length directorial work. We always try to select a wide range of movies from different countries, so the “Discovery of the Year” will see a young world cinema panorama and discover what makes the current directors. Although the program is very different movie theme, I noticed a common denominator linking them – different forms disclosed rebellion “-” Discovery of the Year “describes the festival’s artistic director in Santa LingevičiÅ«tÄ—.”

Excites.

Update: From Festival website:

“The 21st Vilnius International Film Festival Kino Pavasaris has finished scheduling its Discoveries programme, featuring directors making their cinematic debut who present a unique outlook on life. This year’s packed programme will include films that have already garnered awards and recognition in various festivals.

“The Discoveries programme presents a director’s first or second feature film. We always try to select diverse works from different countries, so the programme provides an overview of young world cinema and reveals what contemporary directors are concerned with. Even though the themes represented in these films are very diverse, I have noticed one thing in common between them – rebellion in various forms,” said Santa Lingevičiūtė, the festival’s artistic director.

  • At the centre of “The Childhood of a Leader” is a young, rebellious boy, whose parents are unaware of the monster growing up inside their home.”

UPDATED: 27 February 2016

Still no specific screening date, but Forum Cinemas has added the film under coming soon with a 31 March screening date (which is the first day of the Festival and all movies have that as their screening dates so far).  Will update once we know a specific date or dates.
