Brief Update on U.S. ‘Bel Ami’ Release

So…I was a bit disappointed, as I’m sure many fans were, to see only four cities scheduled under ‘Play Dates’ for the U.S. release of ‘Bel Ami’. Even as a limited release, I had hoped the bookings would be a bit more extensive. After contacting Magnolia Pictures and inquiring about the screenings, I received a reply back stating that they would be adding plenty more theaters and cities to the list. Here’s hoping we’ll see an update soon.

Fingers crossed that update happens soon @Suze. I’m just a little confused at their attempts at marketing this movie with their consistent tweeting of “Teams” … um wrong film people – wrong freakin film.

I hope you get good news soon, Suze. And I hope it being ‘On Demand’ from May 4th doesn’t kill the cinema interest ….I must admit to being totally confused as to why they would do that ~ I know true Rob fans will want to see it bigger and better at the movies, (and several times over!), but not sure about the rest of them.

Good news here ~ 48 days to go! Seriously can’t wait for this movie!

Well that’s a little bit of hope then Suze!!!! The marketing of this movie has been bizarre in many ways, just sayin, but then again, maybe that’s just me.

Not just you @Vicky not just you. I’ve given up questioning why …

The marketing has sucked overall, but don’t worry too much about BA only opening in 4 cities at first. That’s typical of an art house roll out in the US, in fact, sometimes they only open in 2 cites. It will add more cities every week. And after downloading and watching on iTunes, Rob fans are still going to want to see him on the big screen. It’ll be a Girls Night Out–no one is gong to want to miss seeing DuRob giant sized!

I’m praying and hoping they’ll release it in more cities. The closest cinema to me is in Palm Desert. That’s over 100 miles from were I live (approx 170km), believe me girls I will be making that drive. Probably more then once.

But it would be really nice if the did show it more cities and a bit closer to me. But distance won’t stop me. That’s for sure.

Thank you Suze and the rest of you girls for always keeping us updated, even those of us who are way up here.

I was a bit astounded at the very limited release in The US, so it’s good to see that there is still a chance of expansion. I know I am just as excited for all us RPAU girls to see this movie, no matter what country it is in.

That ‘Team’ promotion is so wrong. They have an A list cast with BelAmi. Why would they go there?
