Well I’m not sure what’s happening Sydney, but so far only 18 tickets have been sold for the special screening of Little Ashes at the Ritz.  Considering 4 of them are mine, that’s pretty woeful, and I’m a little perplexed considering 56 said they wanted it to screen on that night.  The cinema seats 220 and I realise it’s mid-week, but how great would it be if we could fill it.   There’s the chance that if we do we can get a screening of How To Be at a later date.   Is this really all of you telling me that Rob’s not worth it?

Please purchase tickets for Sydney here.  If you plan on purchasing tickets on the night – can you let me know by commenting on the site so at least we know there is definite interest.

I’ve also had confirmation today that there will be a special one off screening in Melbourne at the Astor Theatre, cnr Chapel Street and Dandenong Road, St Kilda on 10 January 2010.  Thanks Terry for squeezing this in.  When I spoke to him last week they had already confirmed their schedule up until April, so again people, let’s show them we are serious about Rob or is it just about Twilight?

I too am completely amazed Maria that only 18 tickets have been sold so far to the LA Sydney screening. I do not understand. What happened to the 56 votes we received people? This movie is absolutely amazing, beautiful, cannot say enough good things about it. Rob is brilliant as Dali, beyond brilliant. I cannot put into words how much I adore this movie & wouldn’t be able to buy my tickets fast enough if I was anywhere in the vicinity of Sydney. Seriously I would absolutely LOVE to see this movie on the big screen. We are so lucky to have the opportunity to see LA on the big screen in Australia, seriously it is very special. We get so many comments on the site saying how much you love Rob’s work & want to support him so how about we really show that by attending this amazing screening. Imagine how wonderful it would be to also see HTB on the big screen. This could be possible everyone, just need your support to help make this happen.

Such exciting news about The Astor as well & so wonderful that Terry squeezed in this screening of LA. Rob deserves every single bit of our support so come on everyone & prove that you really do seriously support this wonderful & talented man 100%.

Are you serious?! What’s going on?

ROB AS DALI ON THE BIG SCREEN!

If we don’t show our support now, what’s going to happen when there’s other Rob works that we desperately want to see and they say “naaa, Australia doesn’t have the numbers”.
Rob hold me, I’m scared for our future screenings.

Exactly Vertigo – exactly. Hang on don’t we want to see Rob in any of his films? That’s what I thought being a fan was. Sorry am so so annoyed – it’s taken almost a year to convince Kojo to distribute this film. And for what – so Kojo can say – see this is why we never released it before.

Carmel – you can probably call them and do it over the phone. The Ritz are pretty good like that.

I am scared too Vertigo regarding future screenings. People like ourselves so desperately want to see Rob’s other work. I don’t understand why this film is not getting the support it so truly deserves. I really thought people in Australia were true supporters of Rob & not just Rob as Eddie in Twilight. Really disappoints me & annoys me, annoys me a hell of a lot.

Exactly people – imagine if Rob realised only 18 of us wanted to see this film. I’m just flabbergasted.

Sorry I’m so late confirming purchase, but the latest post got me a bit distracted. No troubles this time buying tickets. I can’t wait. I only get free nights about 3 times a year and I’m very happy for one of those to be with Rob.
Come on girls! This is a real movie that has so much to offer. All the performances are top class and the writing is superb, plus it is one of the most beautiful films I’ve seen. All this can only be enhanced by seeing it on the big screen.
If you haven’t seen it, what an opportunity.
If you have a copy, come and be a fan.

I think I’ll take my mum out on a date with Rob. She’ll appreciate him like I do!

    I hope!

I want to go to the screening so bad, but I am 3 hours from Melbourne and 8 hours from Sydney. Damn living in the country!!
I want to try and make it to the Melb screening though… Hopefully!

I hope that more people get on board and buy tickets to these screenings.

I just live around the corner of Astor theatre in St Kilda East. I’m delighted there will be a screening of LA. I’ll be there and most probably ask a friend to come along. I wonder what kind of promotion they are doing so fans could see the movie? I’ll give you the feedback as to the audience in attendance and might ask people around of their thoughts about the movie.

Just to inform you that there was a Dali exhibition a few months ago at the Victorian Arts Centre in Melbourne. I believed the exhibition was well received by the viewing public coz it ran for quite sometime.

Hey @Addy I had heard about the Dali exhibition – I heard it was amazing. I’d love it if you let me know how the screening at The Astor goes. I spoke with Terry from there and he seems really lovely. I love these old fashioned cinemas. That is what the Randwick Ritz is like – it’s my local cinema and I rarely go anywhere else.

Maria, I checked out this afternoon Astor and found out that LA will screened at 4:00 P.M. on 10/1/2010. Spoke to Tim (staff) and said there’s no need to pre-book just be there 30 minutes before the screening and there’s 1,200 seats available. If coming by public transport from the City, take Tram Nos. 5 or 64 with Tram Stop at the corner of Dandenong Rd & Chapel St. (The nearest stop) Train Stop at Windsor is farther a bit.
Also there’s special double header screening of Twilight & New Moon on 23/12/2009 w/special ticket price of $8.00/ticket (posters at the door) Ph.(03)9510-1414 for verification. I’ll give you a feedback on the screening and will take my camera for some shots of the theatre & surroundings. Hoping we get a good crowd.
